Her design hasn’t changed very much over the 20+ years I’ve had her, but looking at this artwork it appears she once had wing-like ears! In fact, many of my early dragons had these wing-ears and I’m not particularly sure why I loved them so much. Her eye markings also looked a bit different back then.

The exact date I created Neffertity is unknown, but the earliest piece of art I still have of her appears to be from 2003, though she did exist in a much more simple form before this.

I often get asked how I came up with her name, to which the best answer I can give is this:

“I have always enjoyed watching documentaries. When I was very young I must have seen a program about Queen Nefertiti of Egypt, and the name stuck in my brain. When I eventually created her, I wasn’t the best at spelling due to my young age, and I misspelled the name as I thought it sounded. And thus, Neffertity came to be.”

Story

Neffertity has a very long backstory, most of which has actually been made into a comic I started waaaaaaaaaay back in 2008.

Backstory Summary

Before she was even a thought, the White Guardian before her was brutally murdered, and the cycle of the protector was upset. Many years passed, and in that time evil reigned supreme. The Dark 6 fought to control the world, and remake it as they saw fit. Without the White Guardian, the dragons of Dovabrod were no match for them. The Elemental Guardians searched for decades for the next protector, and after the Era of Sorrow, Neffertity was finally born.

She was personally trained by the Guardians to master her elemental abilities, but during her early years her childhood friend fell to the darkness of the evil Sorceress. His mission became to capture Neffertity, so he could drain her powers and use them for himself. As she grew she fought with Draigon numerous times, and was able to keep him at bay. In the events of “A Hidden World” Neffertity must find one of the 6 Black Scrolls and destroy it before its evil power can fall into the wrong hands.

At some point I plan to make an entire series of info segments dedicated to explaining the world in which my stories take place, as well as the characters there.

Character Info

As a character, Neffertity is NOT my fursona. This is a common misconception, as I wear her name everywhere I go. She is known as a “moniker”. This is a special character that identifies me online, as well as marks my brand.

In the 20+ years I’ve had Neffertity I have gotten TONS of artwork of her. So much so that I can’t share it all here.

At some point I will likely contain all of her artwork in a ToyHouse, but the time required to organize and credit all the art I own of her is just astronomical.

Fursuit Info

Another question I often get is:

“Does Neffertity have a fursuit?”

Yes, technically she does. She has a head. Just a head. In fact, it was the very first fursuit head I ever made! And to be honest- that’s pretty obvious…

Her head looks WONKY and was so uncomfortable to wear that I only used it for 1 convention in 2018 when I attended BLFC. There was a time when I considered making a fullsuit for her, and I commissioned this piece of art as a sort of fursuit ref made by xKendo.

This design is SUPER OUTDATED, and doesn’t reflect at all how I would want a fullsuit of her to look, but it is pretty to look at, so I figured it’s worth sharing here. :)

Future Suit?

Ah yes, the big question. “Will I ever remake her into a fullsuit?”

Simple answer- eh- maybe? I’ve definitely considered it, but I’m really not sure if I want to make her into a fullsuit. Honestly if it was possible I’d get her as a quadsuit, but I don’t have the funds for that, nor the ability to even wear one due to my scoliosis.
