Fursuit Head info

This fursuit head itself was made in late 2019, and was one of my proudest pieces at the time.
His ear markings took ages to do, and he was the very first head that I actually shaved the fur on.

Up until this point I had exclusively worked with short pile furs.

His eyes were detailed by hand and had the best vision of any suit I had made. I was also extremely happy with his intense smile and stare.
His big poofy mane was also a major accomplishment for me, and I learned a lot about hand sewing and patterning suits!

the story

Treble, belonging to TrebleTrill was originally made by FleetingFennec, and their full suit can be seen here:

*Note, at this point in time Treble was still a Dutch Angel Dragon

I was approached by a close friend of mine, @VoltTheDutchie who explained the tragic and unfortunate situation to me.

Apparently, after years of love, Treble’s head was a little worse-for-wear and needed some general repairs. This is normal for fursuits over time.

However… Treble didn’t get the repairs he was after…

what happened?

For a more accurate explanation of what exactly happened, look at Treble’s Tweets. I wasn’t involved in this issue myself, but I was contacted in response to it. But to summarize, FleetingFennec took the head in to fix and repair it- but ended up destroying the head beyond repair and had a major falling out with Treble.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HARASS FLEETINGFENNEC

THIS HAPPENED IN 2019 AND HAS SINCE BEEN LONG OVER AND DEALT WITH

When Volt explained the situation to me, he and a few others who supported Treble worked together to raise the money to commission me to remake Treble 1.0’s head. I was heartbroken to hear what FleetingFennec had done, and wanted to show my own support for Treble. I agreed to accept the payment, and remake the head for him.

my work

I poured my heart into building Treble’s new head.
One of the things he expressed wanting, were large floppy ears.

Using elastics to stabilized them, the headbase itself ended up looking more like Pocari’s suit than I had originally planned.

This is why you shouldn’t try to reference someone else’s suit when making a fursuit head.

I kept working at it, trying new things, and making sure everything I did was sent to Treble for approval throughout the entire process. Especially since this was my first actual fursuit commission I had ever done!

More progress photos

As I kept working, and trying new things, I learned a great deal about making fursuits that I hadn’t known before.

Lining the mouth with velboa instead of fleece greatly improved air flow.

Lining the inside of the head made it more comfortable, and less likely to tear.

The size of the pupils should always be a little bigger than you think they need to be to avoid the pin-hole effect.

And the smoother the foam base, the better the end result will be.

Progress was made

To this date, Treble was one of the most ambitious projects I ever undertook.

He was my very first fursuit commission, and will always hold a special place in my heart because of that.

When I saw him make an appearance in one of StormiFolf’s videos my heart jumped for joy! Knowing he was being well loved.

But like all things, life changes.
Treble grew apart from the dutch angel dragon community, changed Treble’s species, and since then I haven’t seen him make any appearances online…

But at least I could bring him back to life, if only for a little while.

Thank you Treble, for being my first fursuit commission. And thank you to Volt, and all those who helped fund this project.

Because of you I chose to become a fursuit maker
